Switching enrolled devices from background mode to single-app kiosk remotely without factory reset

I'm evaluating Headwind MDM and would like to confirm whether the following workflow is supported:

My Goal:

1. Enroll Android devices using QR code provisioning during the initial setup so that they become Device Owner.
2. Initially, the devices should operate in background/normal mode, where users can freely use the phone like a regular Android device.
3. At any later time, I want to remotely switch one or more devices into a single-app kiosk mode or simply just show few apps, where users can access only specific application.
4. If needed, I should also be able to remotely switch the devices back to normal mode.

How can I do this??

Answer 1

Create two new configurations by copying the minimal configuration (for example Managed Launcher).

In one configuration, check the "Permissive (unlocked) mode" and "Background mode" checkboxes.

Configure the other configuration as kiosk mode (https://qa.h-mdm.com/1043/how-to-setup-headwind-mdm-in-kiosk-mode).

Apply each configuration to the device as needed.
