Hello,

Since updating the Launcher to version 6.18, I've noticed that my apps no longer update automatically, and that the MDM system no longer interprets push messages (such as reboots) or traditional pager messages. For example, automatic app installation, once the configuration is updated, doesn't work, even if I leave the device all day. If I restart it manually, using its power button, it installs the updates and new apps.

My devices use the "HTTP" protocol. My devices with the older launcher version (5.26) work perfectly on these three points.

Web Panel Version: 5.25.1

I'm afraid to push 6.18 to my 2,000 devices without being sure that the WebPanel update will correct the anomaly...

Have a nice day! yes

Your issue sounds like a problem with Push notification delivery, caused by an unmatching shared secret (the secret in the new app differs from the secret of the old app and from the server's secret).

For example, the problem could arise if your older devices were using a free limited version of Headwind MDM launcher, whereas you're upgrading to the Premium version. Or your previous version was built from the source code and the shared secret has been changed.

If the issue persists, please contact the technical support: https://h-mdm.com/contact-us/

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. However, I've been using the open-source version from the beginning. I've never had any issues, and I've never made any configuration changes... Is this a version mismatch issue? I always use your APK files available on your website.
If you have any leads to help me diagnose this, especially since devices with older versions of the launcher sync perfectly...
Thank you.
All our versions should be compatible with each other. You can check the logcat output (https://qa.h-mdm.com/5840/how-to-get-diagnostic-info-logcat-from-the-android-device), probably this helps to diagnose and fix the issue. Also, please check the web panel logs for the device (https://qa.h-mdm.com/1573/how-to-turn-on-the-launcher-logs).
Yes. With the new launcher (6.18) :

08/04/2025 13:01:10.839    TC_HOTLINE_GRIS    com.hmdm.launcher    VERBOSE    Push long polling inquiry

With the old launcher, (another phone), no problem :

08/04/2025 11:55:16.791    BZ_AIG112_03    com.hmdm.launcher    DEBUG    Querying push notifications
Maybe the system (push querry ?) has changed since the old version of the WebPanel, and suddenly it doesn't work? It scares me a lot to update my WebPanel, and block 2000 devices if it's another problem... Especially since the other 2000 devices with the old launcher have no problem...
The "HTTP polling" with a 15-minutes delay was replaced by "Long polling" with an instant delivery of Push messages. Please update the web panel, this should resolve your issue. If something won't work, you can return back to the previous version.
Okay, I trust you. I hope I can rollback the WebPanel if I have a problem... I trust you, thank you very much for your quick response.
