I got following entry in the protocol for several devices, here is one of these:

  • Reconnection loop detected! You have multiple devices with ID=MS-M! MQTT service stopped.

However when checking the Devices themselves only one Device appears in the list.

I would like to understand how this mqtt service stopping makes problems, as apparently I can still see logs later one also for the given Device. So most likely the service is just some secs stopped and then restarted by itself. The question is if other things (except MQTT) are getting affected by that?

The other question is how to get rid of that problem/indication as I am unable to distinguish which devices are doubled as they are not visible to me...

This is usually happening when two devices have the same ID, most probably they were enrolled with the same QR code.

Find the device with the duplicate ID, and re-enroll with another ID (you can also change the device ID in the Headwind MDM agent admin panel, tap and hold the key icon).

Our behavior is kinda weird, so when changing affected device ids without using the admin panel then somehow the problem is purely shifting to other devices, which somehow were not affected before.

So the question is, as the Device ID should only be chosen to be numerical: Will it harm to use other characters than numerical (e.g. - or _ or normal characters)?

The other question would be: What would happen if we enable the flag to disallow duplicates in our current condition. Is there a risk that we loose devices for remote control? Referring to this setting: https://qa.h-mdm.com/17240/multiple-devices-attached-to-same-id
