Issue with Microsoft Teams on MDM: No incoming call notifications at all, only missed call alerts after the call ends

I am encountering a significant issue with the Microsoft Teams application on Android devices managed by Headwind MDM. Despite enabling all necessary permissions and configurations (e.g., background activity, notification permissions, overlay permissions), the problem persists. Here are the details:

Issue with message notifications :

When the Teams app is open, users can receive message notifications without any issues.

However, when the Teams app is closed (not running in the background), users do not receive any notifications.

Issue with incoming calls :

Even when the Teams app is open , users do not receive any notification or popup indicating an incoming call. Instead, they only receive a "missed call" notification after the caller ends the call .

This behavior occurs regardless of whether the app is running in the foreground or background.

As a result, users are unable to answer incoming calls, even when the app is actively open.

Are there any hidden or advanced policies in Headwind MDM that might be restricting the background activity or notification functionality of Microsoft Teams?

Headwind MDM doesn't restrict any background activities.

However, when kiosk mode is on, all packages must be explicitly allowed by Headwind MDM. Therefore, if Teams is running some packages which are not explicitly allowed, you may get issues.

An alternative solution would be to turn off kiosk mode.

Despite not enabling Kiosk Mode , the following problems persist:

Issue with message notifications :
When the Teams app is open, users can receive message notifications without any issues.
However, when the Teams app is closed, users do not receive any notifications.

On the same model of device (Xiaomi Redmi 12 ), Microsoft Teams works perfectly fine without Headwind MDM installed .
However, after installing Headwind MDM (with Kiosk Mode disabled ), the above issues occur.

Probably Microsoft products detect the presence of a device owner and behave differently. Anyway, there's no restrictions from Headwind MDM side and therefore nothing could be done to prevent this behavior.
